SYDNEY (AFP) - Seven contenders for the first Test against New Zealand have their chance to impress selectors after being named Tuesday in a Cricket Australia XI for a warm-up match against the Black Caps.

Brothers Shaun and Mitchell Marsh, Usman Khawaja, Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Adam Voges and Peter Siddle were all included for the two-day game in Canberra this weekend.

Chairman of selectors Rod Marsh said the match would be keenly watched ahead of the first of three Tests starting on November 5 in Brisbane.

"Similar to the Prime Minister s XI squad, this two-day match will provide an opportunity for us to monitor a group of highly-rated players ahead of the first Test," Marsh said in a statement.

New Zealand are due to arrive in Australia later Tuesday, with their first hit against a Prime Minister s XI in a one-day game on Friday.
