Summary Pakistan will take on Zimbabwe in the second ODI at the Harare Sports Club today (Saturday).
HARARE (Agencies) – Pakistan will take on hosts Zimbabwe in the second one-day international (ODI) at the Harare Sports Club today (Saturday). Pakistan are 1-0 up in the three-match series after beating the hosts in the first ODI by 131 runs at the same venue. The match will start at 12:30pm (PST).
Pakistan will be hoping for a better and more convincing batting performance, as their top order batsmen failed to deliver on the tour so far. Scores of 29 for 3 and 34 for 2 in the T20s, and 35 for 3 up front in the opening ODI, suggest a persistent problem. However, Pakistan s bowlers have taken 26 wickets in 77 overs during their trip to Zimbabwe. In the first ODI their spinners took all 10 - just the sixth time in history that slow bowlers have managed the feat.
Heading into Saturday s second ODI, Zimbabwe will be determined to avoid another blowout, but with the way Pakistan are taking advantage of the conditions in the country, it s difficult to see how the hosts will come away with the win.
