SHC adjourns hearing of Danish Kaneria case for three weeks

Summary Kaneria was banned by ECB in June, 2012 after he was found guilty in corruption case in 2009.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday has adjourned the hearing of cricketer Danish Kaneria for three weeks, Dunya News reported.

England and Whales Cricket Board (ECB) filed a petition against Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria in SHC in spot-fixing case. The plea was registered by Barrister Khawaja Naveed in which the board has demanded to seize property of the accused and sought fine of £ 2,49000.

Pakistani player has already bore sentence in a case filed by ECB.

Kaneria was banned by ECB in June, 2012 after he was found guilty of corruption while playing with Essex in 2009. The ECB imposed a lifetime ban and costs of £100,000 on Kaneria. He appealed against the conviction but that was dismissed.
