Summary Star batsman said that if PCB invited him for Pakistan Super League, he will be ready for it

LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – Star Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has on Thursday given availability for Pakistan Super League which is scheduled for next year. He said that he will be available if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) invites him. He even gave his availability for captaincy of Pakistan, reported Daily Dunya.

In an interview, Younis Khan said that he will gladly accept the offer if asked to captain Pakistan. He admitted that it was his mistake to give up captaincy in 2009 but he said that he was proud to represent Pakistan. “I resigned because of a few players in the team who were not cooperating with me but the then Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt gave complete support and was ready to even take action against those players”, Khan said.

Answering a question about leaving Twenty20 cricket immediately after winning the World Cup in 2009, Younis Khan said that T20 is typically a youngsters’ game. He said that he was also disappointed with the behavior of Indian Premier League (IPL) Rajasthan Royals who gave him just 1 match to play. “I could not adjust myself to this situation”, he added.

Younis Khan, while responding to a question, said that he never believed himself to be inferior. “I always preferred Pakistan over myself. No captain or coach can say that Younis Khan didn’t cooperate with me. Every player, senior or junior, should be given respect”, Younis said.
