Summary Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first

(Web Desk) – Pakistan reached 209-5 in 41 overs as the batting side lost wickets of skipper Azhar Ali and Shoaib Malik in quick succession in the second ODI of Pak-Sri Lanka series on Wednesday.

All rounder Shoaib Malik continued his form into the second ODI of the series as he made 51 runs off the same number of balls. Skipper Azhar Ali departed after he holed the ball to be caught near the boundary after he made a spirited 79.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan needs to win this series to ensure a fighting chance to enter Champions Trophy. Pakistan is currently ranked 9th while requirement for entry in the tournament stipulates top 8 teams only.
