Summary Pakistan has won the 1st of 5 match ODI series

(Web Desk) – Pakistan won the first One Day International in Pak-Sri Lanka series by 6 wickets on Saturday at Dambulla International Stadium.

Pakistan chased down the required 256 runs with 28 balls to spare.

Shoaib Malik and Mohammed Rizwan were at the crease as the former hit a six to finish off the proceedings. Malik scored his 55 off 45 balls, including four 4s and two 6s.

Mohammed Hafeez top scored with a brisk 103 off 95 balls as he took the gave away from the Sri Lankan sides with ten 4s and four 6s.
Earlier, Sri Lanka scored 255 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Chandimal top scored with 65 runs as he provided impetus to the flailing Sri Lanka middle order. As many as 6 batsmen fell between scores of 20 to 40 as they failed to capitalize on their starts. 

Pakistan has won the 1st of 5 match ODI series.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan is looking for a series win to boost its chance for a Champions Trophy qualification.
