Summary Sri Lanka were due to start at 304-9 in reply to Pakistan's 138, a lead of 166 runs.

COLOMBO (AFP) - Bad weather delayed the start of the third day s play in the second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on Saturday.

Incessant rain since early morning water-logged the covers that protected the entire field, and chances of play starting before lunch appeared unlikely.

Sri Lanka were due to start at 304-9 in reply to Pakistan s 138, a lead of 166 runs.

Pakistan won the first Test in Galle by 10 wickets to take the lead in the three-match series.
