SC issues contempt of court notice to Naveed Cheema over land matter

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has issued a contempt of court notice to Team Manager Naveed Cheema, who was a Chief Secretary Punjab, for not securing state land of Takht Pari, area of Rawalpindi, Dunya News reported on Monday.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case filed by Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman.

In 2013, the court had directed the Chief Secretary Punjab to identify the state land which was neglected by the relevant authority forcing the victim to file a case against Naveed Cheema.

Subsequently, the court has instructed the administration to submit reply in two weeks by issuing notices to Principal Secretary of Chief Minister of Punjab.
