Summary Team will have to adopt modern style of cricket in order to move forward, says Pakistan ODI captain
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Newly appointed captain of Pakistan One-Day International (ODI) cricket team Azhar Ali has on Saturday said that the team will try its best to play positive cricket against Bangladesh. He said that Pakistan will have to adopt the modern style of cricket in order to move forward, reported Dunya News.
Holding a press conference along with team manager Naveed Akram Cheema at Gaddafi Satdium, Azhar Ali said that formed captain Misbahul Haq was one of the best players of the world and he learnt a lot from him. He said that he will try his best to fill the gap created by Misbah’s departure. He said that he accepted captaincy as a challenge and that he had faith in the youngsters inducted in the team.
Azhar Ali said that Bangladesh played brilliant cricket in World Cup 2015 and it will be tough to beat them at the home ground.
Talking on this occasion, Naveed Akram Cheema said that he was satisfied with the players’ preparations for the tour. He told that the team would leave for Bangladesh at 6 pm on Sunday evening.
Pakistan players participated in a three-day training camp for Bangladesh tour. Pakistan-Bangladesh series will start on 17th of April and the two teams will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 1 T20 match on the tour.
