LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmad denied the reports about rift with the national coach Waqar Younis on Sunday. In an interview, Sarfaraz Ahmad has said that Waqar Younis is a national hero and like his elder brother, Dunya News reported.

Denying the rumors about rift between him and the coach Waqar Younis, Sarfaraz said that Waqar was like an elder brother to him and he would never even mind if the coach said something to him. “I wouldn’t even mind if Waqar said something. He is like an elder brother to me and we have no differences with each other”, he said.

“Team’s morale is high and such reports should not surface in the media at such a time”, Sarfaraz added. Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) official Twitter account released Sarfaraz’s interview.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan cricket team has seen three major controversies so far during their visit to Australia, New Zealand for World cup 2015. First, some of the players were fined by the management for arriving late at the hotel. Next was the Moin Khan’s Casino visit and now there was this rumor about rift between coach Waqar Younis and Sarfaraz Ahmad. PCB’s Media Manager Agha Akbar is along with the team but he was not to be seen in any of the controversies that have arisen so far.
