WELLINGTON (AFP) - Lahiru Thirimanne became Sri Lanka s fourth century maker at this year s World Cup on Sunday, underlining the 1996 champion s potent batting line-up.

Thirimanne hit 100 off 117 balls as Sri Lanka chased 310 for victory against England in Wellington, hitting two 10 fours and one six. The 25-year-old was dropped twice on his way to becoming the youngest World Cup century-maker ever for Sri Lanka.
