Summary Pakistan scored 196 runs for 5 wickets in pursuit of the Kiwi target of 261 runs

DUBAI: (Web Desk, Dunya News) – Second Test between Pakistan and New Zealand has ended up in a draw as none of the teams was able to get the better of the other in the allotted five days. New Zealand had given Pakistan a target of 261 runs earlier on Friday to chase which Pakistan was unable to do and the game ended in a draw. Pakistan scored 196 runs for the loss of 5 wickets and held on tight to their 1 – 0 lead in the Three-Test series.

Asad Shafiq and Sarfaraz Ahmad remained not out till the end of the day. Both the batsmen saw it to the end of the day after Younis Khan’s fall in the final session had given some hope to the New Zealand bowlers. Sarfaraz scored 24 runs off 23 balls while Asad Shafiq scored 41 off 116.

Earlier, Younis Khan scored 44 runs off 84 balls and gave Pakistan a stand when they looked like losing their path at 75 for 4 and the skipper Misbah had gone back to the pavilion without scoring any runs. Azhar Ali scored 24 off 74 balls, Shan Masood scored 40 while Taufeeq Umar failed in the 2nd innings too after he was given a chance due to Mohammad Hafeez’s injury. He scored 4 runs only.

From New Zealand side, Trent Boult and Mark Craig got two wickets each whereas Tim Southee took 1 wicket. The game ended in a draw.
