Summary Warner and Faulkner see the Aussies through after loss of 4 quick wickets in an easy chase

DUBAI: (Web Desk) – Australia defeated Pakistan in the first T-20 by 6 wickets. Although the Aussies lost the track a bit when they lost 4 quick wickets while chasing small target of 97 runs set by Pakistan during the first innings yet Warner never allowed Pakistan to feel confident as he kept hitting boundaries to keep Pakistan unstable.

D Warner scored 54 runs off 39 balls and remained undefeated. His innings was starred with boundaries and 3 sixes. Hughes scored 6 runs off 8 balls with the help of one boundary before falling prey to Wahab Riaz. Faulkner joined Warner when Australia was 56 for 4 but Warner did not let him do much as he bashed Pakistani bowlers to take the Aussies to the finishing line. Warner was also declared Man of the Match for his entertaining 54.
Raza Hasan took 2 wickets, Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz claimed 1 wicket each.

Australia are looking steady at 43 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 7.1 overs. The Kangaroos are chasing a modest total of 97 runs after Pakistan was unable to score even 100 runs off their allotted 20 overs. Warner is still not out for 12 runs off just 15 balls while Hughes has just joined him and batting at 1 run off 3 balls so far.

Finch was the first to go when Raza Hasan got him out for just 5 runs. He was caught by Mohammad Irfan. Maxwell was the next to go, getting LBW off Shahid Afridi’s ball. Smith added only 3 runs off 6 balls before giving in to Raza Hasan’s ball.

Earlier, Pakistan scored only 96 runs off 20 overs with the debutant Saad Nasim scoring the innings highest 25 runs off 32 balls. Wahab Riaz scored 16 runs while Raza Hasan remained not out for 13 runs off 13 balls.

Maxwell got 3 wickets for 13 runs off his 3 overs, yce got 2 while tarc, Richardson, Abbott and Faulkner claimed 1 each.

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first in the first T-20 of the Pakistan-Australia series in Dubai but the decision proved to be a disaster as none of the batsmen were able to put any serious effort against the Aussie attack. After 10 overs into the game, Pakistan was 46 for the loss of 6 wickets.

Awais Zia was the first to go. He played a shot that was no shot at all and managed to only hit the ball to mid-off where Richardson was waiting for the opportunity. Umar Amin only wasted 2 balls before getting out on the third one. He went back to the pavilion without doing any harm to the scoreboard. Sohaib Maqsood was the next to go who was bowled out by Maxwell again. He scored a duck too and wasted no more balls than Umar Amin had wasted. Pakistan was 23 for the loss of 3 wickets and Pakistan started to seem completely out of place.

Ahmed Shehzad also gave up in the 7th over and had scored only 10 runs by then. Umar Akmal followed with 1 run while Shahid Afridi scored 2. Anwar Ali and Saad Nasim tried a bit but Anwar Ali also gave up after scoring 5 runs.

Saad Nasim still bats on 18 runs off 23 balls with Wahab Riaz on the other side of the wicket.
