Summary The national cricketer was stopped from parking the car inside the premises of PCB.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal was barred to enter the Gaddafi Stadium by a security guard on Monday.

According to Dunya News, Umar Akmal exchanged harsh words with a security official at the entrance of Gaddafi Stadium but had to park his car and then crossed the gate like general visitors.

The batsman had come to distribute invitation cards for his wedding and wanted to enter the stadium in his car.
According to the security guard, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has directed not to allow any player to bring his vehicle in the stadium.

Talking to Dunya News, Umar Almal said that his car was stopped at the entrance of the gate while several other vehicles were already there inside the stadium. Akmal said that he had lodged a complaint to the PCB management.

He said if there was any instruction by the PCB regarding security, the players should have been informed about it.
It is to mention here that Umar Akmal has been in the headlines due to his controversies.

The 23-year-old was arrested by Lahore police on February 1 for violating traffic rules and scuffling with policeman Mohammad Zeeshan.

He was released on bail after being detained for hours and a local court last month issued a warrant against him, ordering him to appear on March 11.

Later, he was cleared in a traffic violation case after the police officer forgave him, saying he was a "national hero".

Akmal had denied the charges and accused the police of one-sided action.

A court official said magistrate Imtiaz Ahmed dismissed the case after Zeeshan forgave the cricketer. "I have forgiven Akmal because he is a national hero," Zeeshan told reporters outside the court.

"Akmal s father apologised to me out of the court and after his assurances I asked the court to end the case," he said. "But if Akmal ever violates traffic rules again, I will perform my duties."

Wicketkeeper-batsman Akmal rescued his team with a fighting hundred against minnows Afghanistan in the Asia Cup last month, just days before the court ordered him to appear.
