Summary Injured wicket-keeper Adnan Akmal has been replaced with Sarfraz Ahmed.
DUBAI (AFP) - Sri Lanka won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat in the second Test at Dubai cricket stadium on Wednesday.
Pakistan were forced to make one change to the side which drew the first Test in Abu Dhabi last week, replacing the injured wicket-keeper Adnan Akmal with Sarfraz Ahmed.
They resisted the temptation of bringing in the second spinner Abdul Rehman despite talks of the Dubai pitch offering more spin, retaining the attack with three paceman and lone regular spinner in Saeed Ajmal.
Sri Lanka handed a Test cap to off-spinner Dilruwan Perera in place of Sachitra Senanayake in the only change. The 31-year-old Perera made his last appearance for Sri Lanka in a Twenty20 in November 2011.
The third and final Test will be played in Sharjah from January 16-20.
