COLOMBO (AP) - Sri Lanka has been fined for maintaining a slow over rate in the final Twenty20 match it won against New Zealand on Thursday.
Match referee Chris Broad imposed a 10 percent fine on each player s match fee and doubled that percentage on captain Dinesh Chandimal after Sri Lanka was found to be one over behind time, the International Cricket Council said in a statement.
Sri Lanka won the match by eight wickets at Pallekele International Stadium and won the two-match series 1-0 after the first match was washed out.
