Summary Minister says foolproof security will be provided to the visiting team.
ISLAMABAD (Online): Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain invited the Sri Lankan cricket team to visit Pakistan and assured that complete facilitation and foolproof security would be provided to the visiting team.
He expressed these views in a meeting with High Commissioner of Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka H.E Jayalath Weerakkody here at his office on Wednesday.
The High Commissioner congratulated the Minister on his success in Elections 2013 and also the win of PML-N’s Mumnoon Hussain in Presidential Elections.
During the call-on Secretary Defence Production Lt. Gen (Retd) Tanvir Tahir was also present. Matters of cooperation in Defence Production sector came broadly under discussion.
However, in the field of communication a collaborative effort is underway. Pakistan has assured Sri Lanka of full cooperation and help in this regard. The High Commissioner stated that Sri Lanka looks forward to benefiting from the communication related defence products and equipment produced and offered by Pakistan.
To improve and further strengthen brotherly ties between the two countries Federal Minister for Defence Production conveyed his resolve to the Sri Lankan High Commissioner that all matters of bilateral importance will be looked after with keen interest.
The Minister also invited the Sri Lankan cricket team to visit Pakistan and assured that complete facilitation and foolproof security would be provided to the visiting team. The Minister also assured full personal support in the revival of cricket between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The High Commissioner thanked the Minister for his full support and keen interest in facilitating Sri Lanka at all forums and resolved that the friendship between the two countries would further grow and develop. He appreciated the resolve of the Govt of Pakistan in taking forward relations with all friendly countries.
