JOHANNESBURG (AP) - The international cricketers  association says it will refer a disputed vote for an ICC position to an ethics committee itself, criticizing the governing body for ignoring allegations of vote-fixing in Laxman Sivaramakrishnan s recent election.

The Federation of International Cricketers  Associations, which represents players from six of the 10 test-playing countries, says it has strong evidence that the national associations were pressured to vote for India s Sivaramakrishnan as a player representative on the ICC cricket committee.

Sivaramakrishnan won the re-vote over former FICA chief executive Tim May, who later resigned from FICA.

The ICC had said on May 9 it was considering a request by FICA to investigate allegations of improper influence by India s powerful cricket board.
FICA said Thursday that the ICC is "hoping the matter will go away."
