Summary Opener Imran Farhat and Mohammad Hafeez struck half-centuries to guide Pakistan to a six-wicket win.
OVAL (Web Desk) - Pakistan registered comfortable six-wicket win over South Africa in their first warm-up match of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy at Kennington Oval, London on Monday.
Pakistan suffered an early jolt when opener Nasir Jamshed was run-out with the score on 35 after getting off to a flying start. However Hafeez and Farhat combined to add a 85 runs for the second wicket and put Pakistan in a comfortable position.
Lonwabo Tsotsobe was the most successful bowler for South Africa picking up two wickets for 43 runs.
Earlier. a brilliant half-century by Ryan McLaren helped South Africa reach a respectable 202 for nine in their 50 overs.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Pakistan had the opposition on the mat dismissing seven of their batsmen with the score only on 83.
However, a 94-run stand by McLaren and JP Duminy helped South Africa put up a respectable total on the board.
Asad Ali was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan picking up three wickets for only 30 runs in his 10 overs. Wahab Riaz also returned with similar figures.
