ISLAMABAD (AP) - A Pakistani umpire suspended for four years on corruption charges says he plans to appeal against the ban.

The Pakistan Cricket Board banned Nadeem Ghauri on Saturday for agreeing to "extend undue favors for material gain" during a sting operation by an Indian television station last year.

Ghauri acknowledged on Sunday that he spoke over the internet to the man involved in setting up the sting but says the PCB has taken a "one-sided decision," also complaining that "I came to know about the decision through the media."

Ghauri says he was introduced to the man by Bangladeshi umpire Nadir Shah, who was banned for 10 years by his country s cricket board last month on corruption charges.
