CENTURION (AP) - Two wickets apiece from Vernon Philander and debutant Kyle Abbott left Pakistan s innings in tatters Saturday, with the visitors on 91-4 at tea on the second day of the third test to trail South Africa by 318 runs.
Younis Khan was 13 not out and Asad Shafiq unbeaten on 2 with Pakistan in pursuit of South Africa s total of 409.
The touring side has struggled with the bat all series, but made an encouraging start with Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Farhat putting on 46 for the first wicket Pakistan s highest opening partnership of the tour.
However, Philander struck twice and Abbott once as Pakistan lost three wickets for 10 runs, before Abbott ended a mini-recovery when he dismissed Misbah-ul-Haq shortly before the tea interval.
