Summary Chris Gayle is back in the West Indies squad.

BRISBANE (AP) - The Twenty20 world champion West Indies welcomed back Chris Gayle from injury Wednesday and elected to bat first after winning the toss in a one-off match against an under-strength Australia team.

Gayle missed the last matches in the 5-0 loss to Australia in the limited-overs international series and his return is a significant boost for the Caribbean team.

Australia is missing its frontline players for the T20 match, with a 17-member squad already in India preparing for a four-test series.

Lineups:

Australia: George Bailey (captain), Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Adam Voges, Ben Rohrer, Brad Haddin, James Faulkner, Ben Cutting, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Clint McKay, Josh Hazlewood.

West Indies: Darren Sammy (captain), Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Narsingh Deonarine, Devon Thomas, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Tino Best.
