First ever T20 competition for deaf, dumb held in Amritsar

Summary Amritsar Monday witnessed first-ever T20 Cricket Championship for Deaf and Dumb.

The B team, led by Gurinder Singh as its Captain, won the match by 13 runs. It chose to bat first and made 98 runs in 17 Overs.The A team, led by Amritpal Sharma as its Captain, was contained at 85 runs in just 12 overs by Gurinders eleven.Manjinder Singh from B team was declared man of the match for taking six wickets in four overs. The championship, organized by The Amritsar Sports Council of Deaf (TASCD), a registered body that has announced to continuously hold such events for deaf and dumb in future too, was first in the series of such sports competitions in Cricket.Khalsa Interestingly pair of brothers Sandeep and Mandeep and Jaspal and Gurpreet, all deaf and dumb, played in opposite teams College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said It is a great event and would provided much needed emancipation and courage to differently-abled.
