PCB removes 7 umpires from elite panel

Summary Pakistan Cricket Board has decreased number of umpires in the domestic elite penal from 27 t0 20.

According to media reports, a committee of PCB comprising Zakir Khan, Saqib Irfan, Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf, has decided to include 20 umpires in the panel instead of 27, demoting 10 umpires owing to the complaints of the teams playing matches during the previous season of national cricket.The umpires who have been given place in the elite panel include Aftab Gilani, Akmal Hyatt, Saqib Khan, Majid Hussain, and Sajid Afridi.Islam Khan, Masood Khan, Akbar Khan, Jameel Kamran, Iqbal Butt, Meer Dad, and Aijaz are among the umpires who have been transferred from elite panel to grade one panel.Two famous umpires, Shakeel Khan and Rasheed Bhatti have retired from their position. NA body takes action on Fort Manro incidentThe Standing Committee of National Assembly on Human Rights has taken notice of the rape of five tourist women by some security forces officials at Fort Manro near Dera Ghazi Khan.The committee has summoned Commandant Border Military Police , District Coordination Officer(DCO) and District Police officer (DPO) Dera Ghazi Khan on next meeting in person and order them to bring the full record of the incident.The Chairman of the committee Riaz Fatiyana has condemned the incident and called the committee meeting to discuss the issue on 21 June.
