KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened the business week on a negative note as investors remained cautious ahead of the monetary policy decision and amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The KSE-100 index fell 1,058.78 points to reach 169,453.07 points, reflecting a negative change of 0.62% from the previous close of 170,511.85.
During the session, the index touched an intraday high of 169,830.11 and a low of 168,691.34.
Market sentiment remained subdued as investors weighed the upcoming monetary policy decision and assessed the potential impact of continuing tensions in the Middle East on financial markets.
The second meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for the current fiscal year will be held today (Monday).
The committee is expected to review the country’s latest economic situation, with particular focus on inflation, interest rates, economic growth, and other key financial indicators.
The meeting will determine whether the central bank should maintain the existing policy rate or make an adjustment in response to prevailing economic conditions.
