Summary Petroleum dealers have given the government 72 hours to meet their demands, including an 8% margin, warning of petrol pump closures.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Petroleum Dealers Association has given the government 72 hours to address its demands, warning that petrol stations could be shut down if their concerns are not resolved.

The association’s chairman said frequent changes in petroleum product prices were disrupting the dealers’ business and making it difficult for them to manage operations.

The dealers have demanded an increase in their profit margin to 8 per cent, arguing that the existing margin is insufficient amid rising operating costs and market volatility.

The association warned that failure by the government to respond within the given 72-hour timeframe could lead to the closure of petrol pumps.

Meanwhile, a strike by the All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association is also continuing, adding to pressure on the government and raising concerns about possible disruptions to the movement of goods.

The goods transporters’ association president said the wheel-jam strike would remain in place until their demands were accepted.

The simultaneous pressure from fuel dealers and goods transporters could affect fuel availability and the supply chain if the disputes remain unresolved.
