ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued separate notifications increasing and decreasing electricity tariffs under different adjustment mechanisms.
Electricity prices have been increased by Rs1.19 per unit under the fuel cost adjustment for April. The increase will apply to power consumers across the country.
However, charging stations, lifeline consumers and prepaid electricity users have been exempted from the additional charges. The increase will be reflected in consumers' June electricity bills.

NEPRA has already issued the notification for the fuel cost adjustment increase.
Separately, the regulator has reduced electricity tariffs by Rs1.98 per unit under the first quarterly adjustment of 2026.
NEPRA has issued a notification for the reduction, which will remain effective for three months. The tariff cut is expected to provide consumers with relief exceeding Rs67 billion.
The quarterly adjustment relief will be passed on through electricity bills issued in June, July and August.
The reduction, however, will not apply to lifeline consumers, incremental consumption package users and prepaid electricity consumers.
