Summary Electricity tariff has been reduced by Rs1.98 per unit for three months, with consumers set to receive relief in June, July and August bills.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Power consumers in the country are set to receive relief after the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) issued a notification confirming a reduction in electricity prices.

Under the government’s decision, the electricity tariff has been reduced by Rs1.98 per unit. The reduction will remain in effect for a period of three months and is aimed at providing relief to consumers during the summer season when electricity demand typically rises.

According to the notification, the tariff reduction has been granted under the first quarterly adjustment of the current year. Consumers will receive the benefit through their electricity bills for June, July and August.

The notification states that the decision will apply to electricity consumers throughout Pakistan, including those served by K-Electric.

The reduction is expected to be reflected directly in monthly bills, offering financial relief to households and businesses amid ongoing concerns over energy costs. The adjustment forms part of the quarterly review mechanism under which electricity tariffs are revised in line with changes in power sector costs and revenues.

With the latest notification now in force, electricity consumers across the country, including K-Electric customers, will receive the reduced tariff in their upcoming bills for the next three months.
