ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government has changed the opening hours for markets and shops.
It has decided to extend the opening hours for shops and business centres.
A meeting of the Committee on Monitoring and Implementation of Austerity Measures was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The committee reviewed the ongoing austerity measures.
According to the meeting, under the new hours, shops, markets, shopping malls and general retail businesses will remain open until 9pm, while restaurants and food and beverage outlets will remain open until 11pm.
Takeaway and delivery services will be exempt from these hours, wedding halls and event venues will be open only until 10pm, pharmacies, hospitals, petrol pumps, IT and telecom related institutions will be exempt.
The committee has directed that the provincial governments ensure effective implementation of these instructions while maintaining communication with the federation.
