Summary PIA has completed its 2026 pre-Hajj operation with a 97 per cent on-time performance, transporting over 53,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia through 210 flights.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan International Airlines has successfully completed its pre-Hajj flight operation for 2026, achieving a 97 per cent on-time departure rate, according to the airline’s spokesperson.
The national carrier concluded the operation on May 21 after transporting more than 53,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia through 210 special flights.
A PIA spokesperson said the airline exceeded its operational target by seven per cent, with over 97 per cent of flights departing on schedule during the pre-Hajj phase.
Special Hajj flights were operated from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Quetta, providing direct travel facilities for thousands of pilgrims heading to the holy cities in Saudi Arabia.
PIA spokesperson Zafar Hashmi stated that all arrangements for the post-Hajj operation had also been finalised.
The airline’s post-Hajj flight operation is scheduled to begin on May 30 and will continue until June 30, bringing pilgrims back to Pakistan after completion of their Hajj rituals.
