Summary Pakistan stock market fell sharply as KSE-100 index dropped 1,576 points amid selling pressure, erasing previous gains and causing significant investor losses in Wednesday trading.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s stock market witnessed a bearish trend on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index plunging sharply, causing significant losses for investors.

At the start of the third trading day of the week, the market opened on a negative note, with the index dropping by 1,314 points to reach 171,841 points.

Selling pressure persisted throughout the session, and by the close of trading, the KSE-100 index had fallen by 1,576 points, settling at 171,579 points.

During the day, shares worth Rs25.66 billion were traded, with a total volume of over 358 million shares exchanged in the market.

Market analysts attributed the decline to continued uncertainty and profit-taking, which weighed heavily on investor sentiment.

It is noteworthy that in the previous session, the index had gained 959 points to close at 173,155 points.
