Summary Pakistan stock market rebounds strongly after previous losses, closing higher amid mixed trends across Asian markets.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Pakistan stock market witnessed a recovery on Tuesday, with trading closing on a positive note after a sharp decline in the previous session.
At the start of the second business day of the week, strong buying momentum pushed the benchmark KSE-100 Index up by more than 2,500 points, briefly reaching the level of 175,298 points.
However, some profit-taking towards the end of the session trimmed gains, with the index settling at 173,155 points — still up by 959 points overall.
A day earlier, the market had closed significantly lower, shedding 1,742 points to end at 172,196 points, reflecting investor caution.
Meanwhile, Asian markets showed mixed performance. South Korea’s Kospi index rose by 2.3%, while Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.28%. Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa index also climbed by 1.05%. Modest gains were observed in Hong Kong and Thailand as well.
In contrast, Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite index declined by 0.52%, and China’s Shanghai Composite index edged down by 0.24%, indicating a varied regional outlook.
