ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured that there is no shortage of petroleum products in the country, stating that sufficient reserves are available to meet domestic demand.

Speaking during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance chaired by Saleem Mandviwalla, the finance minister informed members that Pakistan currently holds a 28-day stock of petroleum products.

He further stated that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies are secured for an additional 15 days, easing concerns about potential disruptions in the energy market.

Aurangzeb acknowledged that liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports from Qatar had been halted. However, he emphasised that the shortfall would be managed through increased utilisation of locally produced gas to ensure uninterrupted supply.

According to officials present at the meeting, the committee was briefed on the overall economic situation of the country. The session was attended by the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and senior officials from the Ministry of Finance.

The finance minister reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining energy stability and preventing any supply crisis, particularly amid evolving regional circumstances.

He assured lawmakers that all necessary measures were being taken to safeguard fuel availability and protect the economy from external shocks.
