ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government is expected to revise regulations on solar net metering following strong public pressure. Authorities have taken steps to address consumer concerns and protect existing contracts.

According to sources, a letter has been sent to NEPRA requesting a review of the new solar net metering rules. Meanwhile, the Power Division has formally filed a review request with the regulator.

The proposed changes aim to safeguard existing contracts for consumers and address the earlier move to shift solar net metering to net-billing. The Prime Minister personally took notice of the matter, instructing the Power Division to initiate the review.

Officials say the revisions are intended to strike the right balance between encouraging renewable energy adoption and protecting the interests of solar users, giving the public a fair stake.
