KARACHI (Dunya News) - Gold and silver prices continued their sharp upward trend for the second consecutive day in both international and local markets, pushing rates to historic record highs.

According to data from the bullion market, the price of gold in the international bullion market surged by $212 per ounce, reaching a new all-time high of $5,504 per ounce.

The global increase had a direct impact on domestic markets, where the price of gold in Pakistan rose by Rs 21,200 per tola on Thursday. As a result, the price of one tola of gold climbed to a record Rs 572,862, the highest level in the country’s history.

A day earlier, gold prices had already jumped by Rs 21,100 per tola, marking an unprecedented two-day surge.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs 18,175, reaching Rs 491,136.

Silver prices also continued their upward momentum, setting fresh records. The price of one tola of silver rose by Rs 264 to Rs 12,175, while the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs 227 to Rs 10,438.

Market analysts attribute the sharp rise in precious metal prices to strong international demand and ongoing volatility in global financial markets.
