KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) started the new business week on a negative note, with the benchmark index experiencing a noticeable decline during early hours of trading on Monday.

The KSE-100 index has plunged 563.80 points to drop to 148,929.25 points, reflecting a decline of 0.38 percent compared to the previous close of 149,493.05.

The decline indicates a bearish sentiment among investors, likely driven by profit-taking and other factors.

In previous session on Friday, the benchmark index registered modest gains of 257.80 points, a positive change of 0.17 percent, closing at 149,493.06 points.

A total of 802,006,843 shares Rs40.450 billion had been traded during the day as compared to 1,062,993,695 shares the previous trading day.

As many as 479 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 251 of them recorded gains and 199 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 29 companies remained unchanged.
