August 8 set as final deadline
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has once again pushed back the deadline for filing sales tax returns for the month of June 2025, giving taxpayers some breathing room.
According to the latest FBR notification, the new deadline for filing the sales tax return is now set for August 8, 2025. However, the tax amount due must still be paid on time, without any delay.
FBR extends sales tax return deadline to March 27
This decision has been taken under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act. The FBR has also extended the deadline for filing Federal Excise Returns to the same date – August 8, 2025.
Instructions have already been sent out to Chief Commissioners of Large Taxpayer Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayer Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to get the word out to all relevant stakeholders.
Originally, the last date for filing returns was July 18, which was then extended to August 4. Now, for the third time, the FBR has pushed the date further, setting August 8 as the final deadline – giving filers more time to get their paperwork in order.
