ISLAMABAD  (Dunya News) – President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, has announced that there will be no strike anywhere in the country tomorrow.

Speaking at a press conference after a special committee meeting in the federal capital, Sheikh said, “All chambers across Pakistan are on the same page with us regarding the decision not to go on strike. Some members were upset earlier, but after today’s meeting, everyone stands united.”

He clarified that FPCCI’s role is to act as a bridge between the business community and the government. According to him, the government has responded positively to the concerns raised by the business community during the meeting.

“The government has shown flexibility and agreed to withdraw controversial clauses from the Finance Bill and Sales Tax Act after consulting with us,” Sheikh said. “They’ve accepted all of our major demands. The committee’s recommendations will now be sent to the Prime Minister for final approval.”

He further stated that any protest call given by an individual is not backed by the business community. “If someone has announced a strike, it’s on a personal level. The business community has nothing to do with it,” he added.
