The premier reiterated Pakistan's commitment to facilitating Saudi investors
RIYADH (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met with Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and the head of the Joint Task Force for Economic Affairs, Muhammad Al-Tuwaijri.
During the meeting, which took place as part of Prime Minister Sharif's official visit to Saudi Arabia, discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation, attracting more Saudi investment to Pakistan, and accelerating joint initiatives in key sectors.
The premier reiterated Pakistan's commitment to facilitating Saudi investors and highlighted Pakistan's strategic position and investment-friendly policies.
PM Sharif specifically invited Saudi businesses to invest in agriculture, technology, infrastructure, and other sectors under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
Saudi Minister Khalid Al-Falih and the head of the Task Force, Muhammad Al-Tuwaijri, expressed Saudi Arabia's deep interest in further deepening economic relations with Pakistan. They discussed enhancing institutional cooperation to expedite investment projects and ensure their effective implementation.
Both sides agreed to strengthen the Pakistan-Saudi economic partnership through structured engagements and the swift execution of joint projects. The meeting emphasised the commitment of both countries to fostering long-term and mutually beneficial economic relations.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik, and National Coordinator Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ahmed, who assisted the premier.
The Saudi delegation included representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Investment and the Joint Task Force on Economic Relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
