Fresh buying lifted prices of leading scripts at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Monday as 100-Index moved up by 43.13 points to close at 7206.17, dealers said. The turnover volume was low at 95.747 million shares as prices of 145 scripts recorded gains while 143 sustained losses and 15 remained unchanged. A dealer at a leading brokerage house said that the market was bullish in the morning, but went down on selling pressure due to profit taking. However, market again went up on fresh buying and 100-Index went above 7200 level and closed in the positive zone, he added. The market capitalization was improved by about Rs 14 billion to Rs 2.134 trillion. PTCL was the volume leader with a turnover of 13.282 million shares followed by DG Khan Cement with 9.526 million shares, Arif Habib Securities 6.298 million shares, OGDC 6.190 million shares and Lucky Cement 5.938 million shares. OGDC closed at 78.77, MCB Bank 158.53, Arif Habib Securities 28.73, Jahangir Siddiqui Co 23.90, PTCL 17.90, D G Khan Cement 31.12, NBP 66.98 and Lucky Cement 60.31. Nestle Pak recorded the highest gain of Rs 42.71 to close at 1149.45 followed by Unilever Pak which moved up by Rs 20.67 to 1930.70 while Bata Pak dipped by Rs 22.50 to 607.50 and Shezan International went down by Rs 5 to 116.
