Ahsan Iqbal address 13th Joint Coordination Committee of CPEC
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal reiterated on Friday Pakistan government’s commitment to further strengthen ties with China.
During a meeting of the 13th Joint Coordination Committee of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Islamabad on Friday, the minister emphasised that the investment between the two countries was increasing which, in his view, would bolster bilateral ties.
Ahsan Iqbal underscored the significance of CPEC as a vital project between China and Pakistan, highlighting the successful completion of its first 10 years.
The minister said that work was underway in various sectors, including the economy, energy, education, and the environment, in the second phase of CPEC.
Iqbal underscored that the CPEC project was the flagship initiative of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which would further enhance the enduring relationship with China.
The minister stated that Chinese and Pakistani authorities would engage in detailed discussions to address challenges related to CPEC.
He said that the Gwadar Port was being developed with modern infrastructure, and the ML-1 project would be completed in two phases.
