Web Desk) - Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started a direct flight between Al Ain, UAE, and Turbat city of Balochistan.
The aim of this weekly flight is to help Pakistani expatriates from Balochistan who live in the UAE by giving them a direct connection.
Before, these people had to go through Karachi to get to remote areas of Balochistan.
The flight, operated on an ATR aircraft, will be available once a week on Thursdays.
Pakistan Ambassador Faisal Niaz Trimzi officially opened the new route at Al Ain International Airport on Wednesday.
Speaking about the launch, he said, “With the start of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Al Ain airport to Turbat, we see significant potential for more collaboration.”
Apart from this new route, PIA already runs two weekly flights on the Al Ain-Islamabad route.
The ambassador stressed the importance of increasing flight frequencies, especially to cities like Peshawar.
