Govt increases profit margin of oil companies and petroleum dealers

Profit margin on petrol and diesel has been increased by 0.88 rupees

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The government has increased the profit margin of oil companies and dealers on the petrol and diesel prices.

According to the sources, the profit margin on petrol and diesel has been increased by 0.88 rupees. The margin of oil companies was increased by 0.47 rupees while the dealers' margin was increased by 0.41 rupees per litre.

The sources added that the OMC’s profit margin has been increased from 6.47 to 6.94 rupees on per litre petrol.

The dealers’ profit margin on both petrol and diesel has been increased from 7.41 to 7.82 rupees per litre. The OMC’s margin was increased from 6.70 to 7.17 rupees.

The documents showed that the government also increased the freight margin on both the petrol and diesel. The freight margin on both diesel and petrol was increased by 1.78 and 0.16 rupees respectively.

The government is charging 65.70 rupees taxes on diesel while diesel levy is 50 rupees per litre.The petroleum levy is 60 rupees per litre while government is also charging 80.29 rupees taxes on every litre.

The profit margin of OMCs and dealers was also increased by 0.88 rupees per litre on 16th September.
