Petrol price may witness an increase of Rs14 per litre

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government is expected to increase the petroleum prices by up to Rs24 per litre for next fortnight.

Sources said the petrol price would be increased by Rs14 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs24 per litre in line with the upward trajectory in oil prices in the international market during last 15 days.

Over the past two weeks, the prices of refined oil products surged by $13 to $111 per barrel while petrol price went up by $7 to $97 per barrel in the international market.

It is recalled that the government is currently charging Rs55 and Rs50 in wake of levy on petrol and diesel prices, respectively.
Earlier on August 1, former finance minster had announced a whooping increase of Rs20 per litre in petrol prices for first fortnight of August.

The government would announce the revise price on August 15 and these will come into effect from 16th.
