Govt reduces petrol price by Rs9 per litre amid rupee resurgence

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday announced the reduction of petrol price by Rs9 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel was reduced by Rs7 per litre, according to a statement made by finance minister.

He said during the previous 15 days, the price of one petroleum product had increased while that of another had decreased in the international market.

Following the price cut, petrol will be sold for Rs 253 per litre, while HSD will cost Rs 253.50 per litre.

Dar said that the petroleum development levy (PDL), which was raised to Rs55 per lite at the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) request, had not been altered.
