FBR can impose regulatory duty on mobile phones and cars at any time, says FBR Chairman

 ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Asim Ahmed, said that regulatory duty on mobile phones and cars was imposed until 31st March only, and has now been abolished automatically.

According to Asim Ahmed, Chairman of the FBR, regulatory duty on mobile phones and cars was imposed until 31st March, which has now been abolished after the expiry of tenure, and the FBR can impose regulatory duty on mobile phones and cars at any time.

He said that he is in no haste to issue a notification for imposing regulatory duty immediately, as cars and mobile phones are not being imported currently.

Asim Ahmed said that the decision to impose regulatory duty on mobile phones and cars is made by the Ministry of Commerce, and as soon as the Ministry of Commerce will issue directions, we will comply and issue the notification as well.
