Summary APCMA also reports 48.86pc less export despatches during the period
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Total cement despatches comprising domestic and exports from Pakistan during the first six months of fiscal year 2022-23 stood at 21.764 million tons against 27.456 million tons of the corresponding period of the last fiscal, showing 20.73 per cent decline.
According to the data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), domestic despatches during this period were 20.030 million tons against 24.065 million tons during same period last year, showing a decrease of 16.77pc.
Export despatches were also 48.86pc less as the volumes reduced to 1.734 million tons during the first six months of current fiscal year compared to 3.391 million tons exports done during same period of last fiscal year.
During the month of Dec 2022, cement despatches declined by 15.55pc. Total cement despatches during Dec 2022 were 3.881m tons against 4.595m tons despatched during the same month of last fiscal year.
Local cement despatches by the industry during the month of December 2022 were 3.676 million tons compared to 4.057 million tons in December 2021, showing a decline of 9.41pc.
Exports despatches also plunged by massive 61.88pc as the volumes reduced from 538,002 tons in December 2021 to 205,061 tons in December 2022, the APCMA data further said.
