Rupee gains 44 paisa against USD

The greenback closed at Rs152.60

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar decreased by 44 paisa in the interbank on Thursday against Pakistani rupee.

The greenback closed at Rs152.60 on fourth business day of the week compared to previous closing of 153.04.

Since start of May, dollar has declined by 76 paisa or 0.5 percent. The greenback has lost 15.83 rupees or 9.86 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.

Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by 2 paisa and closed at Rs183.47 against the last working day’s trading of Rs183.45, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.

The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.4, whereas a decrease of 25 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs212.31 as compared to its last closing of Rs212.56.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by about 12 paisa each to close at Rs41.54 and Rs40.69 respectively.
