Rupee nears one-year high against dollar

Since August 2020, dollar has declined by 11.72 rupees.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar fell by 28 paisa in the interbank on Tuesday against Pakistani rupee, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The greenback closed at Rs156.72 rupees on second business day of the week. Last time dollar was around 156.58 was on March 9, 2020.

The greenback has lost 11.72 or seven percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.

The recent drop in the value of the greenback will help to reduce pressure on debt payments by around 1200 billion rupees.
