Utility Stores Corporation issues tender to procure 40,000 tons of sugar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Utility Stores Corporation has issued another tender for the purchase of 40,000 tons of sugar from local sugar mills under the Prime Minister s package.
Utility Stores Corporation has asked for Sealed Bids before March 16. Bids will be opened on Tuesday 16 March in the presence of bidders or their representatives.
Earlier, the corporation had decided to buy 20,000 tons of sugar under the last tender. Sugar Mills had bid at Rs 92 per kg. Utility stores had imported sugar at Rs 82 per kg.
In the last 6 months, 2 separate tenders of 40,000 and 35,000 tons of sugar were issued and the utility stores have canceled 5 tenders of 180,000 tons in total.
Only 4,000 metric tons of sugar was procured in one tender. Under the recent tender, bids were accepted for the purchase of 20,000 tons of sugar. An additional 50,000 tons of imported sugar is also being supplied to utility stores.
